The Digital Landscape in Turks and Caicos: Unveiling the Numbers
In late 2025, the Turks and Caicos Islands witnessed an impressive 64,400 active cellular mobile connections, which is equivalent to a whopping 137% of its total population. However, it's important to note that these connections may not all provide internet access, as some might only offer voice and SMS services.
Speaking of the internet, there were approximately 28,100 individuals using it in Turks and Caicos at the end of 2025, resulting in an online penetration rate of 60%.
Now, here's where it gets interesting: the Turks and Caicos Islands boasted 35,700 social media user identities in October 2025, which equates to a staggering 76.1% of its total population. This number might seem a bit off, but there are valid reasons for this discrepancy, which we'll explore later.
These headline stats provide a snapshot of the digital landscape in Turks and Caicos for 2026, but to truly understand the evolving digital trends and behaviors, we need to delve deeper into the data.
So, let's dive into the numbers and uncover some valuable insights, starting with a closer look at the population of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Mobile Connections: A Closer Look
GSMA Intelligence data reveals that there were 64,400 cellular mobile connections in the Turks and Caicos Islands at the end of 2025. This number is higher than the total population due to individuals often having multiple mobile connections for personal and work use. The rise of eSIMs has made this trend even more prevalent.
In terms of trends, the number of mobile connections in Turks and Caicos increased by 2,239 (+3.6%) between the end of 2024 and the end of 2025. Additionally, 99.0% of these mobile connections can now be considered "broadband", connecting via 3G, 4G, or 5G networks. However, this broadband figure doesn't necessarily indicate mobile internet use, as some plans may only include voice and SMS services.
Internet Usage: Exploring the Online Presence
At the time of this report, Kepios' analysis indicated that there were 28,100 internet users in the Turks and Caicos Islands in October 2025. This resulted in an internet penetration rate of 60.0% of the total population at the end of the year.
Our internet user figures are derived from reputable sources such as the ITU, GSMA Intelligence, Eurostat, national authorities, and planning tools from large internet companies like Google and Meta. Kepios' analysis shows that the number of internet users in Turks and Caicos increased by 1,113 (+4.1%) between October 2024 and October 2025.
However, it's important to note that the complexities of collecting and analyzing internet user data can lead to a delay in publishing the latest figures. As a result, the published numbers might underrepresent the current reality, and actual internet adoption rates and year-on-year growth could be higher than what's shown here.
Social Media Statistics: A Digital Presence
Kepios' proprietary analysis, conducted on behalf of DataReportal, reveals that there were 35,700 active social media user identities in the Turks and Caicos Islands in October 2025. This number equates to 76.1% of the total population at the end of 2025.
While Kepios' methodology aims to "de-duplicate" social media users across different platforms and remove non-human accounts, it's important to understand that these figures may not represent unique individuals. Additionally, due to the complexities of de-duplicating users, our methodology sometimes only considers the most popular social media platform in a country at the time of report production.
Kepios' analysis shows that social media user identities in Turks and Caicos increased by 2,050 (+6.1%) between late 2024 and the end of 2025. Data from top social media platforms indicates that there were 35,500 users aged 18 and above using social media in Turks and Caicos at the end of 2025, which was equivalent to 93.7% of the total population aged 18 and above.
At that time, 43.0% of social media user identities were female, while 57.0% were male. Interestingly, 126.9%* of the Turks and Caicos Islands' total internet user base used at least one social media platform in October 2025.
*Note: Usage rates exceeding 100% might seem implausible, but we've chosen to present the source data as-is to allow readers to form their own opinions.
